This sweeping panoramic honors the iconic LAX Theme Building, designed by Paul Williams, Welton Becket, and their team in 1961 and opened in 1962. A celebrated example of Googie architecture, its soaring parabolic arches and circular restaurant once symbolized the optimism and futuristic spirit of the golden age of jet travel. Today, the building’s fluid presence is nearly obscured by sprawling terminals and parking garages, yet surreal clouds in this image allow it to breathe as it once did—proud, bold, and free. An homage to mid-century atomic style and a vision of an unlimited future.
